Softball Team and Eye Doctor

Went to the optometrist today, been going to him for almost 15 years. years. =), becuase I saw that I had a pretty hefty folder on tap with him.

I love the optometrist, because I ask him a lot of questions, so he tells me how stuff is made and work. Like he was telling me how contact lenses are made. The contact lenses I used were first made in the 1970s, and he jokes with me about how I am the last person in his office that orders this type of contact. He wonders why it has not been discontinued yet….

Anyways, he was teaching me how they make contacts. mines are usually hard, and they use a lathe to mill it down to the size. Then they soak it in the solution, until it gets soft.

2nd way they do it, is injection molding,

3rd way is similar to have a spinning disk and you drop pain on it to make a painting (like the way you did it in 2nd grade). So that is how he describe it to me.

We also took photos of my eyes, and he compared it to my pictures from 5 years ago, and everything still looks good.

My favorite part is the superstar shades he gives me to wear after he dilates my eyes. I enjoy it so much, and i look kind of cool walking around the office.

So futuristic.

As for what I have been doing with most of my time. It has been working on the softball team website and gathering information on people’s jerseys.

I was sitting around trying to come up with names I should use on the back of my jersey. I chose between

– McMuffin
– Dru Dog
– Dragon
– Hurricane
– MixMasterA Dub
– Wongster
– Wonginator

I went with Dru Dog, aka “Double D”

Most fascinating thing I encountered today, was finding out that my sister is going to be playing co-ed softball too. The Alameda Livingwater church has a softball team starting up too (just like us). So I will be buying my sister some stuff, so the people in her team will go “wow, she has some good gear”. =P
