Yay, we got our water heater fixed today. And it is true, our pilot light did go out. And the reason the plumber took so long to come was because we have a “special” water heater, that only a few plumbers in SLO know how to fix. So they were able to relight our pilot light and cut out our regulator, becuase that regulator has not been working. All it did was make our hot water cold, because it mixed the hot and cold water together. 10 years ago, it would have worked fine because the regulator was connected to solar cells, but now its not.
Finally, I see some light. I got back my first midterm today, and I did good on my design test. I doubled my score of last time and got a 75. I don’t think Prof. Yong is too great of a teacher, because the class average was 48, and the high 90 and low was 5.
My one roommate tom always wakes up for class late. I think his class starts at 9:00 just like mine, but he never wakes up for it on time. I think his alarm wakes me up, because our door is always open, and his alarm starts going off for 15-20 minutes, and I don’t think he hears it.
Its still not as bad as my roommate from my 2nd year. He lived in the room next to me, and he left his window open, and i left mine opened. I had an early class and came back to my place around 9:00am to do homework. That’s when he usually tried to wake up. His alarm would go off for a few minutes, then I hear him get up and hit the snooze button. Then go back to sleep, and then 5 minutes later his alarm would go off again, and this would go on for 1 hour. so usually i’m doing homework.
What’s interesting is how I pick out friends. Somehow we have a lot in common the ones I pick out. My design homework problem guy Jason, we both love to children. He was telling me how he helped out at some adventure Bible Camp. He’s really cool, he’s more low key then me. I get easily excited, but he’s more calm, when I got whipped by my design test he said “I don’t worry about this, because in the whole scheme of things, this is really not much compared to eternity with God”. And he makes me do the Bible verse before i take my test. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” philipians 4:6-7
I was just sitting around in the library reading the articles in a magazine. I think i was reading some psychology magazine, and it looked like it was geared towards females. But I was reading random articles, but now I know why females like guys with a sense of humor. It talked about how a guy with a sense of humor usually thinks “outside the box”, and is creative. Which also makes it easier for them to see both sides of a situation. It was very interesting read.
