I continued my fun fill weekend with the more “scientific part” of my trip today. We went to a couple museums for fun today. Like with my previous events, I love to go to museums that have recriprocal membership to the Chabot Space and science center. Today, Jason and I went to the airplane museum in seattle, I guess he has never been there either.
When I walk around places like this , I find it so cool how engineers came up with these designs back in the day. Then they also had machines that were not always that accurate as now. They had to screw everything, and all the screws were linked by wire to other screws so they wouldn’t “loosen” up.
On the other side of the aircraft museum, they had the space program items. So I looked at one of the retired shuttle crafts. It is pretty cool being in the ship. They have this one docent who made sure we didn’t touch anything either. 🙂
Then there were the lunar vehicle.
After the plane museum, I went to the EMP Museum. That museum is pretty cool, it is all about music. They have one area that is essentially an instrument playing/learning zone. So you can sit there hitting drums, guitars, and other things.
I actually enjoyed the Jimi Hendrix Exhibit, while they had a huge exhibit for nirvana. I’m not really sure that the nirvana exhibit was that great. It is really detailed with everything about his life, but I guess I don’t like nirvana’s backstory as much as I like their music.
Here is the lego exhibit they have. It is really small, and had a model replica/with a perfect ratio to the real item.
There were 3 really cool exhibits in the lower floors. There was a horror film exhibit where they talked about horror film and how music makes movies scarier.
Then they had a fantasy and sci-fi exhibits. The sci-fi had a lot of really cool real movie props. And the fantasy had the best paintings.
This bug’s eye showed some videos as I was watching it.
Me wearing a random leonardo hat with the arms.
Random sightseeing places in Seattle. I didn’t really have time to go to these other places because we left the EMP museum at around 4pm. One of the most interesting things about hanging out with Jason is how he was playing that one mobile game “Nexus”. He was going around taking over items. I think I helped him in one weekend level up one whole level form 5-6.
To top off the afternoon, we went to the most touristy part of seattle. To the original starbucks, and then a russian bakery next door, where we bought salmon bread. It was pretty tasty the salmon bread.
Then we ate dinner at this ramen place. I think my favorite noodle dish is chow fun, and pho. Ramen would be 3rd, after chicken soup with flat rice noodle.
Then we went back to Jason’s place and played more rocksmith. I also went on a run, and what I found out is that sidewalks are not as common in the seattle area. So there were places were I was running around in the dark on a dirt part of the road. It made it a little bit hard to run certain spots because there were no lights. Then as I was half way through my run, it was pouring rain. So it was one of the worse 3 miles runs I have ever had.
