I have never taken archery before. So I took Sherri on a date to shoot bow and arrows. She told me she had done it before in high school, and thought it would be fun. So I went to an archery place in newark. It is pretty fun learning to shoot the arrow.
There are some pretty cool bows at the store. These composite bows look really high tech, and there were some people shooting arrows 50 feet away. While for our practice class, we hit targets around 20 feet away.
That was how far away I was from the target. In order to shoot correctly, we had to make sure the area was first clear to shoot. Then we stood perpendicular to the line. Raised up the bow, make sure the notch was in the string. Then pulling it back with 3 fingers to your lips. After that, you let it fly.
From what I figured out, I have to aim a couple inches down from the target to hit it.
This was how my shot looked after my second attempt. Okay accuracy, but high consistency.
Sherri and I joke about me getting this doe stand up figure for my house. Hahahahah. She loved archery tonight, and it was an awesome night.
